Changelog

What changed, and when

A site that is never updated is a brochure. This is the receipt that this one is not — every change, dated, including the ones that were fixes for my own mistakes.

v3.0.0

  • changed

    Shabs.Dev custom wordmark

Replaced the SHABS LAB identity with original Shabs.Dev lettering, including the signature square period, horizontal and stacked outlined SVGs, monochrome artwork, avatars, social cards, browser icons, and a downloadable brand kit.

v2.1.0

  • added

    Identity system

An open S symbol and a custom stacked SHABS / LAB wordmark, with horizontal and stacked lockups, monochrome and accent exports, and a micro mark. All 20 SVG assets are generated from one geometry file; guide and downloads at /brand.

  • fixed

    Content-Security-Policy blocked the dev server

React's development build needs eval() to rebuild call stacks; the header granted it in neither mode. It is now granted in development only, alongside the websocket source Turbopack needs. HSTS is likewise production-only, so localhost cannot pin a two-year HTTPS upgrade.

v2.0.0

  • changed

Rebuilt as a personal engineering site

Replaced the studio framing entirely. New information architecture: Work, Lab, Learn, Tips, Writing, Stack. New type scale and colour ramp, and a contrast pass over every text token.

  • added

    Learn hub and Tips feed

Three teaching tracks with twelve lessons, each with outcomes and an exercise. Plus a filterable feed of short, copyable tips.

  • added

    Lab with live demos

Interactive contrast checker, easing visualiser and rate-limiter playground, each with the write-up explaining the underlying maths.

  • removed

    Animation library

Replaced Framer Motion with an IntersectionObserver hook and CSS transitions. Zero runtime UI dependencies now.

  • fixed

    Corrupted content strings

A global find-and-replace had turned every instance of the word "design" into "Lab" throughout the data and the routes. All of it rewritten.
